Homeland Heritage: The Homecoming Edition
Your team crossed an ocean. So did your family.

You're coming to Dublin for the football, but there's a reason this trip might land harder than you expect. Somewhere back along your family line, someone left this island, and the weekend you fly in to cheer your team on is the same weekend you can walk the streets of its capital and trace the story of why they went. Homeland Heritage is a small-group walking tour made for visitors with Irish ancestry who want to understand the history their family carried with them when they left. Over a couple of hours through the historic heart of Dublin, we visit the landmarks tied to the moments that shaped Ireland and its diaspora, from the Great Famine and mass emigration to the fight for independence and the cultural revival that followed.
Together we trace the shared history that links generations across the Atlantic. You'll stand where your ancestors may once have stood, hear about the choices they faced when they boarded the ships, and learn how those who stayed kept Ireland's spirit alive through hardship and hope. Stories of resilience, rebellion, and community give you a real sense of what it meant, and still means, to be Irish.
Your guide is our founder, Courtney, an American with Irish ancestry whose move to Dublin deepened her own connection to her roots. She built Homeland Heritage to explore the lasting links between Ireland and its global family. For this special public edition, she's opening the tour, normally private, to small groups of just twelve travellers across a handful of dates around the match.
With a late-afternoon kickoff at Aviva Stadium, your mornings are free, which makes this an easy one to fit in around game day. Whether you're tracing your Irish roots for the first time or you've meant to for years, it's a meaningful way to connect with the homeland the same weekend you watch your team take the field in Dublin. Sixteen tickets per tour, select dates only. Once they're gone, they're gone.
