DUBLIN HERITAGE TOURS – BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

Dublin Heritage Tours is a small, independent business. When you book a tour, that time is reserved just for you and other requests are turned away. These terms are designed to protect our limited availability while still giving you fair options if your plans change. Thank you for supporting an independent business.
 

1. Tour Types
• Public Tours: Regularly scheduled tours open to individuals and small groups who book per person.
• Private Tours: Customised tours booked exclusively for a group, often with a bespoke itinerary.

2. Booking & Payment
2.1 Public Tours

• All bookings must be made in advance via the website.​
• We require a minimum of two tickets sold in order to run our public tours. In the event of insufficient numbers your booking will be cancelled 24 hours before and will be refunded to the original form of payment. Please check your email the day before the tour.

• All tickets must be purchased at least 24 hours before the tour start time. Same-day bookings are not available.
• Full payment is required at the time of booking.
• A confirmation email will be sent once your booking is complete. Please check this carefully and report any discrepancies immediately.

2.2 Private Tours
• Bookings are arranged directly to confirm availability and pricing.
• Once a quote is issued, your requested date will be held for 7 calendar days. If confirmation and deposit are not received within this time, the date may be released.
• A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking.
• The remaining 70% balance is due 14 days before your tour.
• For peak season dates (May–September), public holidays, or larger group bookings, Dublin Heritage Tours may require full prepayment in advance. This will always be confirmed at the time of booking.
• Guests are expected to arrive on time. Tours will finish at the scheduled time even if the group arrives late, as the guide may have other commitments.

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy
3.1 Public Tours
• Up to 48 hours before your tour: You may transfer your ticket to another available date within 30 days or request a 50% refund (less any transaction or currency conversion fees).
• Less than 48 hours before your tour or no-shows: Non-refundable.
• If Dublin Heritage Tours cancels a public tour, guests will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule. Refunds are always processed in euro and the final amount may vary depending on your bank’s exchange rate.

3.2 Private Tours
• A 30% deposit is non-refundable.
• Cancellations made more than 14 days before the tour: The deposit is forfeited, but any additional payments made will be refunded.
• Cancellations made 14 to 7 days before the tour: 50% of the balance payment will be refunded. The deposit remains non-refundable.
• Cancellations made less than 7 days before the tour or no-shows: Full tour cost is non-refundable.
• If Dublin Heritage Tours cancels a private tour, you will receive a full refund of all payments.

•  All refunds are always processed in euro and the final amount may vary depending on your bank’s exchange rate.

• Guests are strongly encouraged to take out travel insurance to cover unexpected changes.

4. Weather Policy
• Tours operate in all weather conditions. Please dress appropriately.
• In extreme weather where safety is compromised, Dublin Heritage Tours may cancel the tour. In such cases, guests will be offered a full refund or reschedule.

5. Health & Safety
• Guests must inform us of any medical conditions that could affect participation.
• Guests are responsible for ensuring they are physically able to join the tour.
• Dublin Heritage Tours accepts no liability for injuries, losses, or damages incurred.
• All safety instructions provided by guides must be followed.

6. Conduct & Liability
• We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone under the influence or behaving disruptively. No refund will be issued in such cases.
• Any damage caused by a guest to equipment or property must be compensated in full.
• Dublin Heritage Tours is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage of personal items.
• All guides are fully insured and vetted to ensure a high-quality and secure experience. Dublin Heritage Tours works with a team of professional freelance guides who operate as independent contractors under our brand. Each guide is required to carry their own public liability insurance. By booking a tour, you acknowledge and accept that Dublin Heritage Tours is not liable for actions, omissions, or incidents that occur under the direct control of freelance guides during the tour.

7. Changes to Itinerary
• We reserve the right to alter or cancel parts of any tour due to unforeseen circumstances such as road closures, events, or weather.
• Significant changes will be communicated as early as possible.

8. Minors & Accessibility
• Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Please see age requirements for each tour, as some tours have a minimum age to participate.
• For accessibility requirements, please contact us in advance and we will accommodate wherever possible.

9. Photography & Media
• Photos may be taken during public tours for promotional use. Please inform your guide if you do not wish to appear.
• Personal photography is allowed, but guests must respect the privacy of others.

10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by Irish law. All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
