Christmas Through the Ages
Celebrate Dublin at its most magical time of the year

Join us for a seasonal walk through Dublin as the city sparkles with lights, stories, and traditions. This festive tour brings together the magic of Christmas past and present, from medieval feasts to Victorian grandeur and the customs still alive in Irish homes today.
We begin in the glow of a Christmas market, where twinkling stalls and winter lights set the scene. Here you’ll hear tales of lavish banquets and elegant winter balls, alongside the Victorian traditions, like Christmas trees and cards, that shaped the season we know today.
From there, we step back into medieval Dublin. Discover how the Twelve Days of Christmas were once filled with music, feasting, and wassailing, when the whole city came alive in celebration.
As we wander toward the heart of modern Dublin, we pause beneath the festive lights. You’ll hear how a simple tradition of families “going in to town” to see the decorations became a beloved part of Christmas in the city.
Our walk ends at one of Dublin’s most Christmassy corners, where we share stories of candles glowing in windows, Women’s Christmas in January, and the warmth of gathering together in winter. The evening wraps up outside of one of the city's most festive pubs - though you’re welcome to join your guide inside and continue the cheer.
