Safety Statement: Christmas Through the Ages

At Dublin Heritage Tours, we want your festive experience to be safe, enjoyable, and memorable. This walking tour takes place in early evening during winter, when darkness, cold, and crowds each bring special considerations. Please read the following guidelines to help ensure everyone enjoys the tour.

Walking & Street Safety

  • This tour is outdoors in winter evenings - wear warm clothing, waterproof outer layers, gloves, and non-slip shoes.

  • Some streets may be icy, wet, or uneven, with cobblestones or raised kerbs. Move carefully.

  • Lighting may be dim in parts of the route. Stay close to your guide, especially when walking through side streets or near obstacles.

  • Expect crowds, especially near markets and under lights. Keep together as a group; follow your guide’s directions when crossing roads or navigating busy areas.

General Awareness

  • Keep personal belongings secure; pickpockets can target crowded festive spots.

  • If you have any mobility issues, or concerns about walking in low light or cold, let us know ahead of time so we can assist where possible.

  • Be mindful of slippery surfaces - pavements, steps, and curbs in rain or frost can be hazardous.

Tour Finale & Pub Safety

  • The tour ends outside one of Dublin’s festive gathering places. Once formal storytelling is done outside, guests may stay on for drinks inside (not included). If so, be aware of uneven floors, low lighting, narrow staircases, and crowded spaces.

  • There is no requirement to purchase anything. If you do, please do so responsibly.

Conduct

  • Please act with respect for fellow guests, the guide, and non-tour members.

  • Follow any safety instructions given by your guide. If someone’s behaviour puts themselves or others at risk, the guide may ask them to leave without refund.

By booking this tour, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to this safety statement.
