Dublin's Brewing Dynasty

The story of Guinness, beyond the brewery.

Guinness isn’t just a beer - it’s part of Dublin’s very foundation.
Dublin’s Brewing Dynasty is a guided walking tour that uncovers the remarkable story of the Guinness family, whose influence stretched far beyond brewing to shape the city’s culture, infrastructure, and community spirit.

From their world-renowned stout to their lasting legacy in philanthropy, social reform, and city planning, the Guinness family's impact can be seen all across Dublin. On this tour, you’ll explore key sites tied to their story, including the historic Liberties district, once the thriving centre of Dublin’s brewing industry, and visit landmarks and institutions made possible by their generosity.

You’ll learn how Guinness became more than a drink; it became a driving force in Dublin’s evolution, contributing to everything from worker housing and hospitals to some of the city’s most iconic spaces.

Naturally, there will be time to enjoy a taste along the way. We'll chat about food pairings that bring out the best in the stout’s rich, complex flavuor. And to wrap things up, you’ll enjoy a perfectly poured pint in a heritage pub, surrounded by the atmosphere and character of a true Dublin institution.

As a parting treat, each guest will also receive a small edible gift to take home - something delicious to extend the flavour of the tour just a little longer. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a beer lover, or simply curious about the people who helped shape the city, this experience offers a fascinating blend of stories, tastes, and tradition.

Please Note: This tour is independently offered by Dublin Heritage Tours and has no official connection, endorsement, sponsorship, or partnership with Guinness, Netflix, the Guinness family, the Guinness Storehouse, or Diageo.
